FIGHT AT BARBEL PLAZA RESULTS IN STABBING

At least two people were in police custody Tuesday night following a fight near the Little Bo Peep restaurant in Barbel Plaza.
Deputy Police Chief Theodore Carty said what was initially reported as a shooting turned out to be a stabbing. Carty said police were called to the area at 3:20 p.m. when the fight escalated.
Initial information indicated that a group of Charlotte Amalie High School students were in the area of the Barbel Plaza restaurant when a group of people from Pollyberg approached the students.
An argument and fight followed. When the fracas ended, one person had been stabbed and another had been beaten with a pool stick.
Carly said one of the students was hit in the face with the pool stick. The stabbing victim was not a student at the nearby high school.
Investigators are continuing to comb the scene of the incident while other detectives are taking statements from the people involved in the incident, according to Carty.
