NEW DISNEY CRUISES TO CALL AT ST. JOHN

The Cruz Bay and Charlotte Amalie harbors are going to welcome some real characters next year when Mickey, Donald and Goofy come sailing in on new Disney cruises to the Virgin Islands.
The seven-day cruises just announced by Disney president Matt Ouimet will highlight St. Thomas and St. John as ports of call.
Edward Thomas, president of The West Indian Company Ltd., expressed elation at the news, which he said was the result of months of discussions with the Disney Cruise Line.
"Since Disney cruises are family oriented and bringing lots of children, this will be an excellent opportunity for the hotels to encourage future overnight guests," Thomas said.
Although Dec. 15 was announced as the company's official date to begin bookings for the new cruises, Thomas said, he was told by a Disney official that a great deal of interest has already been expressed in the new route.
Mickey and his sidekicks are scheduled to make their first St. Thomas stop in August 2000.
