FBI INVESTIGATES BEATING OF ASIAN WOMAN

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has stepped into an investigation of the brutal beating of an Asian woman found on the embankment below Drake's Seat last month.
The FBI was brought in due to information indicating the woman may be a Chinese national who entered the territory illegally, according to a report on WSTA Radio news.
The incident occurred in the early morning hours of Sunday, Oct. 18, the same day that 40 Chinese nationals, all men, were apprehended – suspected of entering the territory illegally.
Police were notified by someone who said he heard moaning in the bushes below the popular overlook above Magens Bay.
The as-yet-unidentified woman was unconscious and had serious head injuries. She was placed in the intensive care unit at the Roy L. Schneider Hospital.
The report by WSTA said interpreters have been brought in from Puerto Rico to assist with the investigation.
