At 6:30 a.m. Sunday, 17 runners met at Mahogany Run golf course to race a three mile loop around and up and down the course's hills and golf cart paths.
The run commemorates the anniversary of Hurricane Hugo.
Coming in first was Kraige Schmidt with a time of 17:42. Elvin Yaba Nisbett of St John crossed the finish line second with a time of 18:55. The third finisher was Maurice Kurg at 20:24.
Charlotte Morris the first woman finisher's time was 23:13. The second woman, Tammy Waters, came in at 23:16 and Simone Francis was third with a time of 23:52.
The Star event will be the Founder's Day Run on Oct. 3. It's a 5K race and starts at 7 a.m. the Fort Christian parking lot.
