BLACK CAUCUS CONFERENCE SCHEDULED FOR SEPTEMBER

The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation's 29th Annual Legislative Conference will take place in Washington, DC from September 15 -18, 1999, V.I. Delegate to Congress Donna Christian-Christensen announced Tuesday.
The conference, the theme the which is "Tools for 2000: Planning Our Work – Working Our Plan," will focus on developing action plans that will take African Americans into the new millennium.
Conference sessions will take place in the Congressional Office Building on Capitol Hill and other events will be held at the Washington Convention Center.
"The annual legislative conference is an excellent opportunity for Virgin Islands business people to network with African American entrepreneurs and political leaders from across the country, here in the Nation's capital," said Christensen, who will chair the Fall Health Braintrust on September 17th, focusing on mental health issues in communities of color.
"I encourage our leaders and the business community to take advantage of this conference and register early," Christensen said.
Registration information will be available in the St. Thomas and St. Croix Congressional offices on August 9, 1999.
