'A WALK ON THE MOON' SHOULDN'T BE MISSED

With Neil Armstrong's "walk on the moon," Woodstock and Viet Nam as a background this critically acclaimed film, opening this week at the new Market Square East Cinema, tells the story of a woman experiencing the sexual freedom of the sixties — and the consequences.
The film directed by Tony Goldwyn and starring Anna Paquin, Diane Lane, Liev Schreiber, and Viggo Mortensen is set in the Catskills.
It is the late 60s and Diane Lane, playing Pearl Kantrowicz, the wife of a nice lower middle class TV repairman, is drawn to a man other than her husband. Pearl married young and feels she may have missed something.
The affair threatens the family and especially Pearl's teen aged daughter who is experiencing her own stab at sexual freedom.
The screenplay was written by Pamela Gray.
"A Walk on the Moon" is a Miramax film.
