HARLEM ARTS FESTIVAL SELECTS V.I. PLAYWRIGHT'S WORK

Sisters, a play by Clarence Cuthbertson of St. John, will be presented at the renowned National Black Theater in Harlem, New York. The play will be featured as part of the 4th Harlem Arts Festival.
Sisters, written in 1982, is the saga of two women trying to come to terms with their past. The play has been nominated for several awards and has been produced widely on the mainland.
Cuthbertson teaches drama at Pine Peace School and at the V.I. Institute for the Performing Arts. He is also the Executive Director of the St. Thomas – St. John Arts Council and Artistic Director of the Carabana Ensemble Theater Company. Most recently TITUBA, one of Cuthbertson's plays, premiered on St. Croix at Island Center following a successful run at the St. John School of the Arts.
