The Water and Power Authority will not be pumping water in the potable water system until repairs at the generating plant are completed and water levels are increased.
With the power problems experienced by WAPA this week, the authority has been forced to shut down its desalination units.
The result is a critical water-level storage shortage, according to a release from the authority, so water will be gravity fed through the distribution systems. This means higher elevations will be without water until repairs are made.
The repairs are expected to be completed by Wednesday, but pumping is not expect to resume until Monday.
The release said due to the water storage shortage, pumping could not resume until water levels were increased.
