AFT SALUTES TEACHERS

We've all heard the phrase: It takes an entire village to educate a child. However, too many times, the contributions made by teachers, para professionals and support staff are over looked by our community.
The VI code established the first Friday in May as Teachers' Recognition Day. This special day was established to recognize the dedication and contribution of those who are molding the minds of our sons and daughters. Throughout the entire world, children who were educated in our public schools are making valuable contributions because of teachers, para professionals or support staff made a difference in their lives. The leadership of the American Federation of Teachers salutes all the stake holders who provide daily care and nourishment to children in our beloved public schools. It truly takes an entire village to raise and nurture our children.
Message from Glen J. Smith President, AFT Local 1825.
