JAZZMAN FADDIS TO PERFORM AT REICHHOLD

The University of the Virgin Islands Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Martin K. Lampkin will perform in concert at 8 p.m. this Friday, March 26 at the Reichold Center for the Arts.
Trumpet star Jon Faddis, a Dizzy Gillespie protégé, will be the featured guests' artist when the evening's program gets underway at 8 p.m.
Faddis has worked with the bands of Charlie Mingus and Lionel Hampton and is a member of the Wynton Marsalis Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra and is the current music director of the Carnegie Hall Jazz Orchestra.
His pyrotechnics on the trumpet in the upper register are legend.
Faddis will also preside at a clinic on campus at the music building at 1 p.m. Friday, March 26. The public is invited.
