DPNR TO HOLD FLOODPLAIN WORKSHOP

Dean C. Plasket, acting commissioner of DPNR, has annouced that with FEMA they will sponsor a Floodplaind Development Workshop on Thursday, March 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Blue Marlin Room at Sapphire Beach Resort on St. Thomas.
The workshop has been designed for all architects, engineers, draftsmen and land surveyors in the territory. The workshop will be conducted by Mr. Paul Webers, a FEMA National Flood Insurance Program expert.
The territory is responsible for enforcing the rules and regulations of NFIP, and also to inform and educate the public about the flood zone, rules that govern the flood zone and how it relates to the permitting process.
