WINTBERG BURGLARIES PROMPT MORE PATROLS

Eight burglaries in the Wintberg area in a 21-hour period Wednesday and Thursday have prompted police to step up patrols.
Acting Police Chief Jose Garcia said investigators are reviewing the files on each incident to try to determine if the same perpetrator committed the break-ins, according to Saturday's Daily News.
Garcia also said steps are being taken to deal with an upsurge of burglaries in other areas, but declined to say what steps or what areas. He said he didn't want to tip off the burglars, the paper reported.
