While the official slogan of this year’s Carnival may have been "Echoes Through Time," the unofficial theme at the Adults Parade Saturday was definitely "Big Girls Rule" -- the song that kept things bouncing and shaking till well after sundown.

A packed crowd lined the streets of downtown Charlotte Amalie Friday for the annual Children's Parade and were not disappointed, as someone very much like President Barack Obama made an appearance.

Carnival Adult Parade 2006 was a lot about the loss of Nicholas "Nick" Friday, which might have been the reason for the subdued atmosphere that seemed to hang over the festivities at times.

If cuteness could be bottled, Friday's Children's Parade would have been the place to collect it.

The Adults Parade delivered a fantastic display of pageantry, culture and music, wrapping up the 2005-06 Crucian Christmas Festival. Parade-goers declared the event "the best ever."
