St. Croix Track Club Wins 11 Medals at Puerto Rico Championships

The St. Croix Track Club (STXTC) Mustangs won 11 medals at the AAJI (Asociacion de Atletismo Juvenil e Infantil) Championships for 14-19 year-olds in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, on May 22. STXTC took nine athletes who qualified for the championships to the games.

Avery Joseph, Javelin Thrower, Headed for SPIRE Academy Training

Avery Joseph is a freshman at Central Michigan University (CMU), a graduate of Charlotte Amalie High School and a member of the Cheetah’s Track Club. Avery Joseph has had a strong freshman year at CMU as he has improved on his javelin throw to 59.09m, an improvement of four meters on his personal record, to take fifth place at the Mid-American Conference Championships.

The two-day meet will include competition in running, jumping and throwing events for youths on June 18 and for junior, seniors and masters athletes on the June 19.
