The DHS Head Start Program has rescheduled its parent orientation for the parents of new and returning students to Friday, Sept. 3.

Persons who receive public assistance are alerted that allotted funds will be available at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 2.

The Department of Human Services Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) will host a conference for older workers 55 years and older in recognition of national Employed Older Workers Week.

Due to the effects of Hurricane Earl, the St. Thomas office located at 53A, 54AB Kronprindsens Gade is only open for limited services. Electrical power at this site has been temporarily interrupted; new poles will have to be replanted before power can be restored. While the WAPA works to restore electricity to this area, in the interim, basic services will be provided for St. Thomas and St. John customers via temporary offices in the DOL parking lot on St. Thomas.

The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority reminds all residents that green waste or yard waste is not to be disposed of at the bin sites. Only household waste is accepted at the bin sites.
