Creque Dam Farm offers workshops on fermentation and the art of mentoring followed by dinners.

A workshop entitled “Tai Chi Alchemy” will be taught by Rick Barrett on Thursday, Jan. 21 and Saturday, Jan. 23, at Solyoga in Mongoose Junction, Rick Barrett, author of “Taijiquan: Through the Western Gate,” presents a radical vision of the effect of consciousness on human ability. A "Channeled Healing" workshop will be taught by Louise Olivi, M.S.,  on Monday Jan. 11.

Cancer Support VI announces the next free lecture on Wednesday, Dec. 2, at Oceana Restaurant in Frenchtown -- a cooking demonstration that will include a discussion, handouts and recipes using foods found locally that can help with cancer fighting, diabetes and cancer prevention.

In an introductory presentation and two days of workshops, “Tibetan Medicine for the Western World” will be presented by Dr. Barry Clark of New Zealand, who is the only Westerner to have been trained in the Tibetan medical system.

Cancer Support VI will hold a free lecture given by Hariyah dan Fodio, a massage and qi gong instructor, who will teach the “Art of Therapeutic Self Massage,” which includes Thai and Japanese trigger point self-massage techniques.

The 2009 Life Style Festival/Healthy Encores Health Awareness Day took place on St. Croix, Saturday, July 18, at the Sunshine Mall and will continue this Saturday, July 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Tutu Park Mall. The festival will also present the “Stop the Violence” show from 8 p.m. to midnight.
