The Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands (CFVI) has announced the availability of its 2012-2013 school year scholarship applications.

The St. Thomas East End Lions recently fulfilled a wish list item at their adopted Yvonne M. Bowsky School. 

The Caribbean Genealogy Library will hold its annual meeting on Saturday, Jan. 28, at Randy’s Restaurant, on Raphune Hill.

The University of the Virgin Islands, the Virgin Islands Department of Education and the Virgin Islands Department of Human Services will host the second annual MAN-UP Male Empowerment Conference on UVI’s St. Croix campus on Tuesday, Feb. 7 and on UVI’s St. Thomas campus on Thursday, Feb. 9.

The Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands (CFVI) announces the launch of its 2012 Mini-Grant Program, which was established 16 years ago by CFVI to offer support to school-based groups,  community organizations, non-profit groups and individuals who propose innovative programs that support the mission of the foundation.  

The Virgin Islands Public Television System, WTJX-Channel 12, is organizing a Pledge Telethon fundraising event for March 18, and it is in search of volunteers to assist with the event.  

To increase the awareness of HIV, hepatitis C (HepC), diabetes and hypertension/heart disease, Helping Others in a Positive Environment (HOPE Inc.) will be conducting HIV, HepC and chronic disease screenings with informational tables at different locations throughout the Thomas-St. John District.

The American Cancer Society's volunteers on St. John have started the new year with enthusiasm and commitment for their upcoming Relay for Life on Feb. 11 and 12 at the Winston Wells Ballfield.
