The Department of Planning and Natural Resources (DPNR) announces that the Division of Environmental Protection’s (DEP) Beach Water Quality Monitoring Program, which evaluates weekly water quality at 43 popular swimming beaches throughout the territory, advises the public of the following:  

This month the Virgin Islands Energy Office will hold a small wind workshop on St. Croix, end the Energy Star rebate program and acknowledge Weatherization Day.

the Virgin Islands Energy Office informs the public of building code training offered for free, the Junior Solar Sprint winners, and the approaching deadline for energy grants from the federal government for V.I. non-profit organziations.

A Management Plan for the St. Thomas East End Reserves (STEER) is being developed using The Nature Conservancy’s Conservation Action Planning (CAP) process with the participation of representatives from community groups, DPNR, UVI, and The Nature Conservancy.

The Virgin Islands Energy Office announces information on rebates and grant applications, solar panel rebate formula changes, the expansion of the rebate program to freezers and dishwashers, how to build green, and more.

The Virgin Islands Energy Office, as a result of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, is able to once again expand its rebate program. It will be giving 30 percent rebates on Energy Star dishwashers, freezers, heat pumps and tankless gas water heaters.
