On Thursday, April 25, the St. Thomas community was enjoying J'Ouvert when the celebration was shattered by gunshots which injured three people. Public safety officials immediately canceled the remainder of J'Ouvert.

Bullets and words fly as Feds take sidelines

We were informed repeatedly that the feds could not intervene in our son's murder, unless he was murdered on park land. In todays article, referenced above it seems we were not informed correctly.

It states, "If a crime occurs within 1000 feet of a school it is a
Federal Case. Jamie Cockayne was murdered within 1000 feet of the JESS school in Cruz Bay. Also if the crime involved drugs or was committed by a felon.
