Police charged Jermaine Nathan Burke with domestic violence.
The V.I. Police Department has a theme song, "Don't Run, Don't Hide," written by local musicians Fusion Band for use in the government television channel documentary, "V.I. Cops."
The Virgin Islands has been plagued with corruption for several years and though we have turned a blind eye to the under table deals in which senators benefit, it is now time for a revolution. A revolution in mind set of the people of the USVI and the elimination of those who limits the progress of our islands. We have a generation of youths who are intelligent but absent minded in regards to pride. The violence is out of control. Our government workers are treated poorly as the budgets are mismanaged by senior officials. The list can go on forever. I believe the current administration has done a decent job and that’s why they got another term. But we can do better and I will do better. My hope is to return to the territory in the near future for a run for government. However; it is my appeal to all citizens that when we are electing senators for the next round, choose new blood. The old ideas and beliefs are restraints to our progress and the ideals that once were have become complacent. The Islands are suffering in economically in the tourism and business accruals. Its time for a change, Time for new Blood and I am ready to for it. Are you?
