Woman Injured, Robbed of Cell Phone

A woman was injured Monday night when she was robbed of her cell phone, the V.I. Police Department reported.

According to the VIPD, the first-degree robbery took place at about 10 p.m. in Hidden Valley. According to the preliminary report, the woman, whose name was not released by the police, was walking in the area when she was approached by a slim man with braids in his hair. He demanded her cell phone.

The two struggled for the phone and the victim was cut by an unknown object on her right elbow, according to the report. The suspect then fled with the cell phone.

The victim was transported by private vehicle to the Schneider Regional Medical Center where she was treated for her injuries.

Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives are following up on this case and urged anyone who was in the area or possesses any information to call detectives at 1-340-714-9834 or 1-340-715-5522, the 911emergency call center, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477.
