Golden Grove Inmate Had Nearly 50 Bags of Marijuana, Police Say

Emmett Bramble, a 26-year-old inmate of the Golden Grove Correctional Facility, was arrested Friday and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute after a routine prison search allegedly found Bramble with nearly 50 small plastic bags of marijuana, the V.I. Police Department reported Tuesday.

Bramble was arrested just after 5 p.m. Friday at the prison. Police said he had been found in possession of 48 small bags of marijuana, as well as two digital scales.

According to St. Croix Police Chief Christopher Howell, the Bureau of Corrections officers contacted VIPD officers after finding Bramble with the drugs during a routine search at the prison.

Bramble was arrested, placed on a $10,000 bail and returned to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections.
