Police ID Saturday Homicide Victim

Police on Sunday identified the victim of a homicide that took place Saturday night at Coki Point Beach.

According to St. Thomas/St. John District Police Chief Darrin Foy, the victim was 39-year-old Anthony Charles. It was the fourth homicide on St. Thomas since the beginning of the year, the fifth in the territory.

Foy said police received a shots-fired report from the 911 dispatch center at 8:44 p.m. Saturday. Officers responded to the scene and found Charles between Calley’s Place and Dushi By the Sea.

The victim had received several gunshot wounds to the body, Foy said.

Detectives from the Major Crimes Bureau are continuing to investigate, and asked anyone with information to call 1-340-714 9833 extension 5618, or call the 911 dispatch center or the anonymous tip service, Crimes Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-8477.
