DRUGS KILLED WINTBERG WOMAN

The 24-year old woman whose body was found in an Estate Wintberg residence on April 13 died from the effects of drug abuse or a drug overdose, according to Medical Examiner Dr. Francisco Landron.
Landron identified the woman as Drake E. Toussaint. She lived at 1-68 Estate Wintberg, the location where her body was found, and worked at Randy's on Raphune Hill.
Landron said Monday that toxicology tests, to be conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, will determine exactly what the woman ingested hours before a friend found her body.
"The body showed a stigma of intravenous drug abuse," Landron said.
The FBI will likely take custody of the tissue samples and conduct the testing at a off-island laboratory, he added.
The V.I. Safe Streets Task Force has been investigating the woman's death since last week. The task force is comprised of officers from the Police Department, FBI, federal marshals and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
The medical examiner said foul play was not a factor in Drakes' death.
"The toxicology will show that Ms. Toussaint died from either a drug overdose or the use of illegal drugs," he said, though he could not specify what the drugs may have been.
Landron said Drakes was dead for "less than eight hours" when her body was found around 7:30 a.m. last Thursday.
