As part of the St. Thomas observances of Veterans Day, the U.S. Coast Guard is inviting the public to tour the decks of the cutter Diligence through 5 p.m. today on the waterfront.
Built in 1962, the 216-foot "medium endurance" cutter currently has a Coast Guard Dolphin helicopter on its flight deck. The aircraft is on the cutting edge of avionics, according to the ship's commanding officer.
