Collection Boxes Set Up to Accommodate Taxpayers

The Office of the Lieutenant Governor has established collection boxes at three locations throughout the territory as it prepares to issue the 2010 property bills.

The collection boxes are installed at three of the most heavily trafficked Tax Collector’s Offices to reduce the long lines experienced by property taxpayers and improve customer service.

Collection boxes are presently available at Builder’s Emporium on St. Thomas and will be installed at Sunny Isles and Frederiksted.

Only check or money order payments can be deposited into the drop boxes. Property owners using the drop boxes are asked to include the bottom portion of the bill in the payment envelope. In addition, drop box users who would like a receipt are asked to include a self- addressed stamped envelope with their payment in order to receive a stamped receipt.

Payments made with cash, ATM, debit and credit cards can be made at the window only.
