Church of God of Prophecy's Farewell to Bishop Carty

Sept. 16, 2005 – The Church of God of Prophecy on St. Thomas will hold an appreciation and farewell service for Bishop Amos W. Carty Sr., who is relocating from St. Thomas to Albany, N.Y. According to the church's press release, the special service will be held on Sunday, Oct. 9, at 3 p.m., at The Regional Tabernacle, C-5 Estate Hoffman, across from the Donoe Intersection.
"We are all aware of Bishop Carty's ministerial service as a servant of the Lord in the Virgin Islands and the Caribbean for over 40 years," said Ernest Knight, who serves as the chairman of the church's ministerial aid committee. "This special service presents us with the opportunity to express our love and appreciation for him and to recognize his many years of service in the Kingdom of God and in the Church of God."
The Rev. Dr. Ruby M. Jones, who is the pastor of the Church of God of Prophecy in Albany, will be the special guest speaker for this service. The public is invited to attend and say farewell to the bishop.
