Lisa Opie Crowned Miss Virgin Islands United States

Lisa Opie, 22, has been crowned Miss Virgin Islands United States 2013. She is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, where she earned her B.A. in Political Science with a minor in history. Her plans are to attend law school next year. Although she spends most of her time in the Virgin Islands, she is currently based in Miami, Florida, where she is working on her business, Vizcaya Swimwear, as well as modeling and acting.
Opie’s platform is breast cancer awareness and education. “I have had several family members affected by breast cancer, and I know I am at risk, so I want to do everything I can to support research and raise awareness,” said Opie.
She will be competing for Miss United States 2013 in Washington, D.C., on July 2-7.
