Energy Office Has Training Funds Available for Energy Manager Certification

The Virgin Islands Energy Office (VIEO) has federal funds to reimburse eligible residents for reference materials and testing fee for Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification/designation. The funds are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The funds available are limited, so it should be noted that “reimbursement is based on the availability of funds.”
The Association of Energy Engineers CEM program is accredited by the American National Standards Institute, which is recognized within the industry as the highest standard in personnel certification accreditation. The association has certified more than 26,000 professionals, enabling them to receive recognition for their expertise in a variety of specialized areas of the energy, power and green facilities industry.
For more information about the funds that can go to Virgin Islands engineers, call 713-8436, ext. 3603 or e-mail patricia.lord@eo.vi.gov at the Virgin Islands Energy Office.
For updates on local energy-efficiency and alternative-energy initiatives, residents can visit the VIEO Web site at www.vienergy.org
