Kevin Marshall Dies at 40

Kevin MarshallKevin Marshall, chef at the Caribbean Saloon, passed away on Tuesday, the 7th of January, on St. Thomas, U.S.V.I. Marshall, as he was known by all locally, was an integral part of the Caribbean Saloon family, with his magnificent, gentle personality and unforgettable smile. He brightened everyone’s day with kind, thoughtful words, and enjoyed sharing his passion and knowledge of reading and music with so many friends along the way, who will forever cherish those shared memories.
He was born in Columbus, Miss., in 1973 and has lived on St Thomas since the late 90s. Preceded in death by his mother, Kaye, he is survived by his father, Hollis, and brother, Keny. He will be greatly missed by family and friends alike.
The Caribbean Saloon will hold a memorial from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 9, and all are welcome to attend. The Saloon will also be accepting charitable gifts in his name to be donated to the Ivanna Eudora Kean High School to further local education and highlight Marshall’s passion for literacy.
