Choice Wireless V.I. Open Tennis Tournament Announces Winners

World-class competition was on full display at the Choice Wireless V.I. Open Tennis Tournament, hosted May 26-30 by the St. Thomas Yacht Club. Seventy tennis players from the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, St. Kitts and the U.S. Mainland – which included professional as well as a strong contingent of amateur or B Division competitors – definitely proved this event’s reputation as the ‘Wimbledon of the Caribbean.’

Junior Achievement Teams, Delta Airlines, VIPA Explore Careers in Aviation

High school students from St. Croix and St. Thomas participated in a “job shadow” experience on Thursday, May 26, at the Cyril E. King airport. Debra Ceronsky, a Delta Airlines’ station manager, initiated the program by reaching out to Junior Achievement VI. Rather than limit the program to just the airline, the team agreed to bring on the V.I. Port Authority (VIPA) as a partner and expose the students to the entire aviation sector.

 A private family service and burial is being planned for Sandra Spratley Bonelli, who died on Aug. 2.
Sandra Spratley Bonelli is survived by her loving husband, Laurance W. Bonelli; sons: Laurance W. Bonelli II and Terrance B. Bonelli; parents: Doris Spratley and Bruce Spratley; mother-in-law, Olympia P. Bonelli; father-in-law, Leonard W. Bonelli Sr.; sister, Cynthia S. Bernier; brothers-in-law, Kent Bernier Sr. and Leonard W. Bonelli Jr; brother, Bruce Spratley Jr.; sisters-in-law: Kim R. Bonelli, Lauren D. Bonelli and LaVerne D. Bonelli; nieces and nephews: Leonard Bonelli III, Lemian Bonelli, LeRoi Bonelli, Kimo Bonelli, Kwame Bonelli, Shanique Bonelli, Francisco Bonelli, Sherene Bonelli, Shemura Bonelli, Shainee Smith Trotter, Talesha Spratley, Bruce Spratley III, Cordell Spratley, Cynthia Turi Bernier, Kent Bernier Jr. and Phillip K. Bernier; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
