911 in USVI Still Lacking Spanish Speakers

Although the U.S. Virgin Islands has a substantial Spanish-speaking population and a significant minority who speak Spanish only, those who call 911 for emergency assistance may have difficulty communicating, because there is still a shortage of bilingual operators.

Dunston Sues Governor Over Demotion

V.I. Superior Court Judge Michael Dunston is suing Gov. Kenneth Mapp to reverse Mapp's removal of Dunston as presiding judge, arguing V.I. law does not allow the governor to change his tenure in office nor to reduce his pay.

Wanted Man Turns Himself In

Nathaniel Thomas Jr., 27 of Frederiksted, turned himself in to the V.I. Police Department at 5:20 a.m. Wednesday. On Sunday, the VIPD issued a wanted poster for Thomas.

Billy Morris King Dies

 Billy Morris King died on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012.
He is survived by his father, Archibald O. Donadelle; sisters: Yvette Donadelle-Williams, Diane Hairston and Phyllis Lindqvist; brothers: Ronald Donadelle and Olando Donadelle Sr.; brothers-in-law: Fitzroy G. Williams Sr., Dominic Lindqvist and John Hairston; sister-in-law, Judy Donadelle; nieces: Patrece Donadelle-Thompson, Jolanda Donadelle-Rabsatt, Patrice Donadelle, Janee Lindqvist, Nyja Lindqvist-Brown, Dominique Lindqvist and Danielle Gibson; nephews: Olando Donadelle Jr., Beit Donadelle, Howell I. Matthews Jr., Daryl Q. Matthews, Fitzroy G. Williams Jr. and Evan Lindqvist; 13 great nieces; 13 great nephews; one great-great niece; uncle, John T. Williams; aunts: Evelyn Fredericks of Dallas, Texas, and Florine Tucker of St. Thomas; godmother, Sue Dyer of Maryland; and other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
A memorial service is set for 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 1, at Turnbull's Funeral Home.
