On Thursday, April 25, the St. Thomas community was enjoying J'Ouvert when the celebration was shattered by gunshots which injured three people. Public safety officials immediately canceled the remainder of J'Ouvert.

Evelyn Ann Olive Dies

 

Evelyn Anne Olive, better known as "Evie," died on Aug. 19.
She is survived by her husband, Jean Leopold Olive;sons:Lawrence Olive I, Thomas Olive I, Patrick Olive I; daughters: Angela Olive, Geraldine Lima, Marie “Bunny” Giddings; adopted son: Nicholas P. Jackman; sons-In-law: Donald Giddings and Gary Simon; daughters-in-law: Laverne, Heather and Moressa Olive; grandchildren: Jada and Pablo Concepcion, Heather and Diego Lima III, Dean Wheatley Jr., Santineech and Brandon Simon, Tamra, Tara, Thomas II, Thorne, Rebekah, Lawrence II, La’Shae, La’Jahnie, La’Jahnique , Patrick II, J’Quan, Monetrick and J’Vante Olive, Akima Blyden; brothers-in-law: Marcel Olive and John Gumbs; sister-in-law: Teresa Aubain; 14 great-grandchildren; special friends: the Magras, Quetel, Lima and LaVoie families; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
There will be a viewing held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 30, at Turnbull’s Funeral Home
Funeral services will be held from 9-10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 31, at St. Ann Chapel in French Town. Interment will be cremation.
Funeral arrangements are by Turnbull’s Funeral Home.
