On Thursday, April 25, the St. Thomas community was enjoying J'Ouvert when the celebration was shattered by gunshots which injured three people. Public safety officials immediately canceled the remainder of J'Ouvert.

Deaths — St. Thomas
Colleen M. Williams-Ferguson Dies at 75

 

Colleen M. Williams-Ferguson, 75 died on Aug. 9, at 2 a.m. from a prolonged illness. Colleen was born Sept. 8, 1937, on St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands. She was a daughter of Alice Elizabeth Williams Rodriquez and Moses Williams, who also are deceased.
She is survived by her four daughters and two sons: Sheila Daniel, Sharon Richards, Asta Smalls-Gabriel, Elvin Jacobs, Elrod George and Kathleen George; sister, Cynthia Henley and brother, Vincent Blyden. Colleen is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren, such as, Bernard A. Kennings Jr., Ieshun Richards,Gilbert Smith Jr. Keelo Jacobs, Kadijah Williams, Kyan A. George Richardson, Coretta Frazer, Carlos Clendinen, Anthony Joseph Jr., Franklin Boone III, Kishna Powell, Tanisha Powell and Tanja Powell.  
Services will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25, at the Bovoni Baptist Church.
