On Thursday, April 25, the St. Thomas community was enjoying J'Ouvert when the celebration was shattered by gunshots which injured three people. Public safety officials immediately canceled the remainder of J'Ouvert.

Deaths — St. Thomas
Dennis L. Clendinen Jr. Dies

 Dennis Luben Clendinen Jr. died on Wednesday, Aug. 15.

He is survived by his wife, Rubina Gabriel Clendinen; sons: Lamont Smith, Shawn Dawson, Maliek and Malachi Clendinen; daughter, Tasha D. Clendinen; brothers: Dennard, Albert, Donald, Dwayne, Dilbert (Danco) and Dario (Meko) Clendinen; sisters: Donna Clendinen-Williams, Deanna Clendinen and Pamela dn Regina Sanchez; stepmother, Elsie Clendinen-Phipps; great aunt: Doris Davis; uncle, Vincent (Beef) Clendinen; aunts: Ena Knight and Aase Clendinen-England; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
There will be a first viewing held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 23, at Turnbull’s Funeral Home Chapel. A second viewing will be held at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 24, at St. Paul Baptiste Church. Interment will be at Eastern Cemetery, Smith Bay.
Funeral arrangements are by Turnbull's Funeral Home.
