On Thursday, April 25, the St. Thomas community was enjoying J'Ouvert when the celebration was shattered by gunshots which injured three people. Public safety officials immediately canceled the remainder of J'Ouvert.

Edward Eugene Richardson Dies; He Was 68

Edward Eugene Richardson – also known as Bandit or Gene – died Wednesday, June 27, at the age of 68.

He is survived by his mother, Valerie Isaac; daughters Diane Richardson-Mccleary and Arnell Richardson; son, Eugene Edward Richardson, Jr.; grandchild, Nino Chesterfield; son-in-law, Lincoln Mccleary; brothers Reuben Richardson, Angel Richardson and Charles Isaac; sisters Maureen Isaac-Martin, Gloria Isaac-Williams, Harriet Isaac-Hampton, Murlene Richardson, Beatrice Richardson, Muriel Richardson-Anderson and Janet Richardson; former wives, Adelaide Richardson and Angerie Richardson. He is further survived by his loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Andre Richardson, and his brother, Henry Hansen.

The first viewing will be held from 8 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, at Turnbull’s Funeral home. The second viewing will take place from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at Philadelphia Seventh-day Adventist Church. The funeral service will follow at 10 a.m., with burial to follow in the the Eastern Cemetery.

Turnbull Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
