Three Cheers for the Stars and Stripes Poker Run

Dear Source:
Downtown Revitalization Inc. (DRI) wants to give a big shout-out to Clarence Browne and Guilderoy Sprauve and the entire USVI Stars and Stripes Poker Run organizational group for presenting the first-ever Stars and Stripes Poker Run, a boating racing event held on July 6. We are very pleased that you chose to base this event in Downtown Charlotte Amalie and even more pleased that you chose DRI as a beneficiary.
Despite significant organizational and weather challenges, complete with 5 swells, you have put this great event on the Virgin Islands’ calendar. We trust that future events will be even more successful. Despite a smaller field of boaters than anticipated, you attracted an enthusiastic group of racers who roared into the Harbor for the finish. Visit the website at www.facebook.com/USVIPOKERRUN for pictorial evidence of the fun and excitement of the day. The inclusion of a “party boat” was a great way to capture general gallery participation.
Downtown Revitalization Inc. is happy to have been included in the thrill and impact of this initial poker run. We want to help develop the potential of the Destination Downtown after-party and look forward to being part of the event for years to come.
Congratulations on an initial effort well done!!! Thank you for bringing the first-ever Stars and Stripes Poker Run to Downtown Charlotte Amalie.
