No Record of Guns Confiscated by DPNR Cop Accused of Drug Smuggling

DPNR Enforcement Officer Roberto Tapia testified in March that he regularly confiscated boaters’ firearms but DPNR has no records at all of any firearms confiscated by Tapia.

AT&T Invests in V.I. Network

AT&T announced Monday the results of some of its 2012 investments in infrastructure and renovations to improve 4G mobile Internet service in the territory.

According to a release issued from the company Monday, AT&T invested nearly $5 million in its V.I. wireless and wired networks in the first half of 2012.

Network upgrades include activation of new cell sites or towers to improve network coverage, deploying faster connections to enable 4G speeds and adding spectrum capacity to support additional traffic. Network upgrades include new Wi-Fi hot spots and backbone network connections.

“We’re working to build a 4G network that’s smarter and better,” said Ray Flores, regional vice president of AT&T Puerto Rico & U.S. Virgin Islands.
