On Thursday, April 25, the St. Thomas community was enjoying J'Ouvert when the celebration was shattered by gunshots which injured three people. Public safety officials immediately canceled the remainder of J'Ouvert.

Shooting Claims life of 18-year-old Vasheo Donastorg

According to police, Vasheo Donastorg was washing his car outside his home on Lime Street when shots rang out Monday evening, killing the 18-year-old. Police are urging anyone with information to call.

ADDY Awards 2011 to Honor Best Advertising in V.I.

 

The ADDY Awards 2011, “The Magic of V.I. Advertising,” will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, at Antilles School, Prior-Jolleck Hall. Tickets cost $25 in advance, $35 at the door includes. There will be champagne and hors oeuvres. Attire is island elegant.
The occasion will honor The Best Advertising (television, radio, print and online) in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The awards will include The Lifetime Achievement in Media Award presented to Athniel “Addie” Ottley; The Emerging Leader in Media Award presented Rashidi Clenance. The evening will feature live jazz by renowned musician Louis Taylor. Join the biggest names in Virgin Islands advertising and media community as they celebrate the magic Of V.I. advertising.
