Pistarckle will hold auditions for Lorraine Hansberry’s “A Raisin in the Sun,” at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5, at the theater in Tillett Gardens. All performers will be asked to read a scene from the play. The show will be performed in early March.
Synopsis: Walter Lee and his mother, Lena, both yearn to move their family out of Chicago’s South Side ghetto. When Lena’s late husband’s insurance check arrives, she hopes to use it to buy a house in a white neighborhood, while Walter hopes to invest it in a liquor store.
