RANDOM HEARTS PAIRS GREAT COUPLE

Together at last! Random Hearts casts Harrison Ford alongside the lovely Kirstin Scott Thomas of English Patient fame, in what is described as a "compelling love story." These two stars could probably be cast in something as compelling as Lassie Come Home and still be able to bring it off. However, this story is a little above that.
Thrown together by a quirk of fate, Dutch, a hardened Washington, D.C. internal affairs cop, played by Ford, encounters Kay, a New Hampshire congresswoman, Scott Thomas, of course, when both discover their spouses are on a plane that has crashed into Chesapeake Bay leaving no survivors.
As they begin to pick up the pieces after the accident, they discover that the flight carried a supposedly married couple heading to romantic Miami Beach. And the couple, matter of fact, happen to be none other than their mutual spouses, each carrying identical tickets in their pockets.
Now the cop and the congresswoman are thrown together in their anger and their grief. Dutch, following his investigative instincts, wants to find the details of his late wife's clandestine affair. Kay, however, is running a political campaign, while trying to deal with her emotions. She wants no part of the lurid story that Dutch is turning up. And out of this sorry state of affairs, grow the random hearts.
The film is directed by the Academy Award winning Sydney Pollack, and is rated R for "brief(?) violence, sexuality and language."
It is playing at Sunny Isle.
