How to Apply for Temporary Jobs Through FEMA, DOL

Workers wanting temporary jobs with FEMA to help with hurricane recovery should be aware of a change in schedule to get help with applications and drop off resumes.

MONDAY, OCTOBER 23

    St. Croix Department of Labor from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. FEMA Human Resources available to assist in filling out applications from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

     St. John Virgin Islands Legislature, St. John Annex, 1D Cruz Bay, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. FEMA Human Resources available to assist in filling out applications from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

    St. Thomas Department of Labor, 2353 Kronprindsens Gade, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 24

    St. Croix Department of Labor from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

St. Thomas Department of Labor, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. FEMA Human Resources available assist in filling out applications from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Each location will have paper applications available for candidates to complete. Applicants can come in and fill out an application if they are unable to print or can drop off their resume. No additional documentation or paper will be required for the drop-off.

Contacting Applicants and Interview Schedule

FEMA Human Resources personnel are beginning to contact applicants by phone and email to schedule interviews. They will make repeated attempts to reach applicants but will not leave a voicemail or send texts.

Interviews will be conducted next week between Wednesday, Oct. 25 and Friday, October 27.

FEMA is seeking a variety of skilled workers including administrative assistants, communications specialists, couriers, facilities workers and workers in other specialties. Temporary local hires may be employed for 120-day terms, which may be extended up to one year maximum.

Applicants not selected for a position will receive a letter in the mail delivered via the U.S. Postal Service.
