Joseph A. Gomez Elementary Schedules Orientation for 2017-2018 School Year

The Joseph A. Gomez Elementary School has announced mandatory orientation sessions for the 2017-18 school year that will be held in the school cafeteria.

The orientation schedule is as follows:

Thursday, August 24

Advertising (skip)



9 a.m. – 11 a.m. – Grades 1 and 2

Noon – 2 p.m. – Grades 3 and 4

Friday, August 25

9 a.m. – 11 a.m. – Grades 5 and 6

Noon – 2 p.m. – All kindergartners and new incoming students

All students must be fully dressed in the school’s official uniform and be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian. Each parent must bring the child’s proof of insurance and a copy of the child’s immunization record.

The school’s Dress Code Policy is as follows:

Girls:

Skirt: brown; fully pleated; no contrasting topstitching, bows, buttons or decorations. Skirts must be knee length in front and back.

Blouse: yellow; tailored or pullover with collar; tucked into the skirt.

Socks: solid white, brown or yellow; must rise visibly above shoes and ankles.

Shoes: brown, or black shoes; black, white or gray sneakers.

Boys:

Pants: brown; worn on the waist with a black or brown belt; no baggy or extra-long pants.

Shirt: yellow; tailored or pullover with collar, fully tucked inside pants. Undershirts allowed are white, yellow or the school’s P.E. shirt.

Socks: solid white, brown or black socks

Shoes: solid brown or black shoes; white or gray sneakers.
