Virtue of the Week: Flexibility

Flexibility is being open to change. You consider others’ ideas and feelings and don’t insist on your own way. Flexibility gives you creative new ways to get things done. You get rid of bad habits and learn new ones. Flexibility helps you to keep changing for the better.

You are practicing flexibility when you:

– Learn from your mistakes,

– Are willing to change bad habits,

– Try imaginative new ways to do things,

– Are open to the ideas and feelings of others,

– Can adjust when something unexpected happens, and

– Go with the flow. Trust the unexpected.

Affirmation:

I am flexible. I keep changing for the better. I use my creativity. I welcome surprises.

The Family Connection was established in 2005 by the Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands as an early-childhood initiative. The mission of TFC is to strengthen the community child care and early education infrastructure in the USVI by building awareness of the importance of early learning and development for success and working with community agencies to promote quality care and education.

One of its efforts is the Virtues Project, an international initiative focused on building peaceful and caring communities.

The Source supports the Virtues Project. We will publish one of the virtues developed by the project each week.
