Jahkima Moore, 32, died Saturday afternoon in a shooting on Scott Free Road, the V.I. Police Department reported.
It was the 13th homicide on St. Thomas since the beginning of the year, the 22nd in the territory.
According to the police, at 5:54 p.m. Saturday the 911 call center received a report of rapid gunfire on the Scott Free roadway. Minutes later a citizen called and reported a Jeep Wrangler had struck a wall and appeared to have an unresponsive male in the vehicle.
At the scene officers found an unresponsive, black male in the driver’s seat. The man appeared to have suffered multiple gunshot wounds about the body. EMT’s on the scene reported that the man had no vital signs and had succumbed to his injuries.
Moore was identified by next of kin.
