GERS to Hold Produce Giveaway for Government Retirees

The Virgin Islands Government Employees Service (GERS) will hold a government retirees’ fresh fruit and vegetable produce giveaway between 10 a.m. and noon, the Memorial Day Holiday on Monday, May 29, at the Addelita Cancryn Jr. H.S. Auditorium.

This event is being sponsored by the Virgin Islands GERS Health Insurance Board and United Healthcare Insurance, which are partnering with Government Retirees United for Fairness and Greenridge Guaveberry Farms. 

To be eligible to receive a bag of produce, a person must be a Virgin Islands government retiree, ages 65 years or older, present a United Healthcare Insurance card and a picture ID. Only one bag is available per person. The event is first come, first served.

GERS encourages all V.I. government retirees over 65 years old, regardless of their income, to participate.
