G-Clef Music Academy invites young musicians and beginners to attend at its 2017 Summer Music Camp. Regular registration for this unique all-music camp will end on Wednesday, May 31. Camp will be held from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Mondays through Friday, June 19 to Aug. 4.
Children, ages 6 to 14, will learn how to play three instruments in the morning, then take part in orchestra, choir or various bands in the afternoon. They can choose to learn how to play the piano, guitar, drums, steel pan, violin, or they can learn how to sing.
Parents or guardians can choose to enroll their child in 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 weeks of camp. Camp includes lunch and snack, when school lunch is served. Late pickup is available to 5:30 p.m.
Academy Director James H. Gumbs Jr. said, “We give children a chance to explore music instruments and read music, but they learn it in a fun way. One major benefit is that music will keep your child’s mind growing. According to research, ‘Disciplined, structured practice in playing music strengthens brain functions.’ The camp will also include a grande recital, fun day and professional workshops to give campers a well-rounded experience.”
