Turnbull Library Closes Until Further Notice

The V.I. Department of Planning and Natural Resources has announced that Charles W. Turnbull Regional Library on St. Thomas will be closed until further notice.  The chiller for the air conditioning system must be replaced. DPNR is in the process of getting emergency approval to purchase a new one.

Commissioner Dawn L. Henry will provide the public with periodic updates as it becomes available.

The Turnbull library is closed because somebody in DPNR could not buy a new air conditioner. Finance reasons now? The closing means several people will be paid to do nothing. Good show!

This is SHAMEFUL! After all the KICKBACKS and the delays, overruns, the leaky roof… it’s BARELY been open at all, and now closed indefinitely…. that AC system is less then 5 yrs old. WOW.

Yet another example of the conniving, manipulating, incompetent, and thieving characters that run these islands. Remember when the three people involved in the design, financing and execution of the project were acquitted of all charges related to kickbacks and personal gain from this project? A jury found them innocent of all charges. Not surprising at all considering the corrupt climate of these islands. The people like it so. But the longstanding culture of corruption is soon to collapse. Not soon enough.
