Jeffrey Javier, 23, was pronounced dead shortly after midnight Sunday morning after being shot multiple times in the Contant area.
It was the 11th homicide on St. Thomas since the first of the year, the 18th in the territory.
According to police, the 911 emergency call center received a call at 12:16 a.m. Sunday reporting a male shooting victim, later identified as Javier. The victim was transported by private vehicle to the Schneider Medical Center.
Medical staff at the emergency room pronounced Javier dead.
Preliminary reports that Javier was in the Contant area on his way home when someone shot him multiple times.
