The We From Upstreet Inc. Centennial Activities Committee invites the public to a series of events commemorating Transfer Centennial Commemoration:
Saturday, March 25 there will be a workshop entitled “Things Meh Grandmother Taught Me” at 10 a.m. at Winston Raymo Center
Learn how to: Bake Tarts with Brenda Lewis; Crochet with Ivy Brathwaite; and Patchwork with Alma Hermon
Saturday, April 1 The J. Antonio Jarvis House Museum & Learning Center will host a lecture: “The Educational Transformation of the Public School From Danish West Indies to the United States System” at 1 p.m. The presenter will be Dr. Lauren Larsen of St. Croix.
Saturday April 8 – 4 p.m.
The J. Antonio Jarvis House Museum & Learning Center will host a lecture: “The Victor Cornelius Story” by Dr. Ron Harrigan.
Each month, the organization will host activities to include exhibits, lectures and workshops on the traditions and history of Virgin Islands communities; (Upstreet, Garden Street, Savan, Downstreet as well as the East-end and West-end communities).
These events will recognize many prominent residents (past and present) who have made and continue to contribute significantly to the growth of the territory. Admission to all events is free; however, Upstreet would appreciate any donation given at the events. Membership in We From Upstreet Inc. is open to all residents of the V.I.
